BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GT
The new model sports an even more powerful W12 twin turbo engine, up to 590 PS from 575 PS, and an innovative variable displacement system that creates more power, but with lower emissions than ever before.
Creating a new GT coupé allowed our design team to combine inspiration from past iconic Continental models with the most advanced technologies. The familiar haunch line – a crisp modern echo of the original 1950s R-Type Continental – has sharp, modern radii to create distinct surfaces giving a wide, confident and sporting feel. These sharp, contemporary lines are only achievable thanks to Bentley’s state-of-the-art facilities and its life-long commitment to producing coach-built cars featuring exquisite details.
Unlike standard two-wheel-drive cars, the Continental GT benefits from one of the world’s most advanced all-wheel-drive systems, ensuring that all the power the 12-cylinder engine generates is utilised. Its ability to accelerate under a wave of torque at any speed, in all weather conditions is unparalleled.
All-wheel drive is not simply about delivering superb traction for higher performance, it also ensures greater safety in all weather conditions. The advanced system can instantaneously adjust the power split between the front and rear wheels depending on the available grip. In addition, the uprated Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system operates alongside the all-wheel drive system to deliver superb reassurance whatever your driving style.
Interior designers have skilfully evolved the Continental GT’s cabin to produce a stylish yet cocooning space. Incredible attention to detail has gone into making the interior as quiet and refined as possible.
The new steering wheel introduces new knurled paddle-shift gear selectors and a new wheel shape to give an even more assured grip. Behind it, the instrument panel and dashboard subtly echo the flying wings of the Bentley motif. Fashioned from the highest quality soft-touch leathers and striking analogue dials that, at night, flood with ‘blood orange’ illumination. The dynamic cockpit area rises from the centre console in the form of dramatically surfaced ’wings’.
For 2016, a new veneer option is available across the Continental range: Dark Stained Madrona, a dark rich veneer which compliments the luxurious interior of the Continental GT.
The GT's distinctive new Mulliner GT Design seats now have the option to be crafted from semi-aniline hides for superior comfort. With front-seat ventilation as well as a state-of-the-art massage system.
